Hi Probosk,
You can read about the - probable - reason for the crash in another forum, whose link has been added to some of these threads. (Do some search.) As for my savegame dir patch, it has been created independently of this crash problem: I simply don't like games puking their config files and savegames into my user's home directory (which I don't want to bother with) so I redirect those files to the game installation directory instead, by hacking the game a little bit.
