Have you tried using the tweaked game.ini and raising your pagefile to 1GB? Have you changed Lighting to Vertex? Have you updated your drivers?
Your system is quite high-end and should be able to play the game without chopiness, hell, even mine plays it waaaaay good right now. As for the CRC errors, they aren't something that should be ignored. It means either a bad disk or a worn drive. So return the game and ask for a new copy. It should work
