i can just play half life 2 without steam.

Hmm, not actually possible with a legal copy. I know you can play without going online, but you still need Steam open. This one I can maybe slide. But this one sold me -

create a account i do that and then register product is all i can do, which you need cd key for. basically you need to have bought it to play solo.
