NFS:U2 Free Roam on LAN??

Heya guys. I don't know if anyones made a patch or something for this but a friend and I want to play NFS:U2 over a LAN.

We can do that fine (don't know why everyone else was having so much trouble). Thing is we don't necessarily want to race each time. We want to be able to do Free Roam over LAN. Has anyone found a patch or something to allow this?

I've been searching most of today but can't seem to come up with anything.
