FTP-connection problems

Hi There!

I'm a total newbie and in desperate need of backing up my Xbox-games! But I have a problem with my FTP-connection from my PC to the Box. Whether the problem is my PC-settings or my Xbox-settings i don't know, but here's the deal:

- My cable is definately a "twisted" cable
- My cable normally connects my PC to my modem, and it works!
- My cable is connected from my PC to my Xbox
- I have Evolution X installed on the box (the guy that chipped it, did it for me), even thought it doesn't boot on this dashboard but on some other system called "Avalaunch". IS THAT MY PROBLEM???
- When i move the other end of my network-cable from my modem to my Xbox a pop-up appears in the buttom right side of my screen saying: Limited or no acces to network connection... IS THAT MY PROBLEM
- When trying to connect to through my FTP-program it says "no network-connection found". (reffering to the pop-up window)

Please help!
