Armored Core Formula Front problem

Ok, I'm in a bit of a dodge situation:

I have a PS2 (unmoddded, using HD and MC exploit) with an 80gig HDD.

I've got Armored Core Formula Front (NTSC JAP version) and i've patched it to be PAL (because thats my ps2's region).

I loaded the game onto my HDD, and it didn't work. fair enough, so i looked for a hdd patch, found it, patched the iso and put it on my hdd again. still, its not working. WHATS WRONG????

i'm so confused
