Depends on how important the files are doesnt it! If the files lost are so important then its worth registering isnt it? I too deleted the wrong files once, well actually I formatted the wrong drive by mistake , but as soon as I realized my mistake I removed the Hardrive and searched until a found 'R-Studio'. Once I knew it would do the job I registered it and recovered the whole drive! So I do recommend R-Studio. And yes like 'Sidney' has already said you will need another spare hardrive to recover the files too and you really need to do it before anything else is written (or installed) to the problem drive.
