Serious Problem

Before I start here are my specs:

AMD Athlon 1700+ XP
512 DDR
GeForce FX 5700 LE

I Have various games on my computer including Battle for middle earth, Rise of Nations, Rome Total War, Need for speed underground 2, Starwars Battlefront etc. And yes some are ripped and some are legit. The problem I'm having, especially with BFME and RON, is that the menus are EXTREMELY slow, and BFME can only barely run on minimum settings. RON runs fine in game but it takes at least 20 minutes to get through the menu. Rome Total War reboots my computer when I try to get to the menu and If I'm lucky and i DO get to the menu its slow as hell as well. I have no idea what this is all about and I am in desparate need of ideas/help.
