Its probably just a bad disc. We all get them at one point or another. Ive actually had a brand new japanese movie that I got and unwrapped, it would not back up. Its kinda like the old saying "There's a bad egg in every bunch." Well it applies to movies too.
Id recommend you try and take it back to where you bought it and have them replace it with the same movie. I bet your new movie will backup easily. Tyler!
