I came across that awhile ago, but reports of people performing the mod have not been too steady. Some say it worked for awhile but in the end didn't work. Others say they haven't gotten it to work properly. Still a little skeptical though IMO.... I especially don't like this quote:

can offer a more general protection to the coils by constantly monitoring the voltage applied to them.
However we felt that it was much more important to offer a cheap, easy and fast fix instead of a more
general one which would be outside the reach of the general hobbyist."

In my experience and opinion, a lot of the times a cheap, easy, and fast fix is not the best thing.... I'd rather just wait until a solution which seems a bit more absolute comes along.
