Where did you purchase this "Brand new" laser from?
The laser in your V3 PS2 is a KHS-400B and not too good of a laser even when new. Also many many sites sell what they call "new" lasers when they are in fact just refurbished old used worn our pieces of crap them selves. Also it might actually be hard to find an actual "new" KHS-400B as I'm not even sure sony is makeing them anymore and you might only be able to find refurbished ones. What did the packaging look like that your new laser came in? You do realize that you cant just slap a new laser in your PS2 and expect to go, you may still need to adjust it.
