Patching DC games??

Hi there.
Just wndering how i go about applying ppf patches to DC backups?
I recently got Skies of arcadia, but it will only run on my rf lead, not my scart. I would like to patch it to run it though my scart lead, but i am unsure how to do this.
I downloaded one of the ppf patchers, but it only worked with .bin files, and i cant seem to get cdrwin (v4) to read my backup (too many sessions).
Could any1 give me some insight into this?!
I would like to know what software i should be using...
