Hi all,
My son has an unmodded SCPH-50003 which is just under a year old. On several games (all original discs) - Spider-Man the Movie 2, Lord Of the Rings: The Return of the King and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban - there seems to be a problem when playing video sequences in-between levels etc - sometimes the video will play fine, but the audio will judder, pause or jump whilst at other times it is the video that stalls whilst the audio plays OK. Gameplay does not seem to be effected and neither does DVD playback. We thought that this was a normal occurance until he went to a friends house and played on his mate's ROTK and POA - he noticed there were no problems whatsoever. They swapped discs and my son's discs played fine at his mate's house, but his mate's discs were effected our usual problems on my son's PS2. I have used a DVD cleaning disc, but this has had no effect whatsoever. Has anyone seen this problem before? Any ideas how to fix it? I would go straight back to Sony as we purchased it on 6 December 2003 (I can tell from my CC statement), but I can't find the original receipt for repair under warranty!!!! Any help or advice greatly appreciated. |
