Ps2 Online= 56k Good Enough ?

hey all
im currently on 56k dial up, and was thinking of upgrading to broadband (500k) for ps2 online.
Could anyone tell me if 56k is good enough for ps2 online (eg any lag, restrictions to some games......)
and on 500k would u recieve any lag whilst playing....

finally could anyone give me a site where i can find out which games u have to pay a monthly fee for and which are free
