Skies of Arcadia problem

[The Zero Saber]

I am playing a copied version of Skies of Arcadia which occupies 2 disks. Once I get about 3 hours into the game at a point where an Arc Whale comes up from under you and blows your ship away my game freezes once it fades to black. Does anyone else have this problem? Any way to fix it? And also, I hope I am not violating any forum rules by asking this.
