Help with booting matrix Infinity

I finally installed the chip after 9 hours. The ps2 boots up and i get the Matrix Infinity 1.2 logo under the Playstation logo and original games play fine but my backups don't work. I get the red screen of death. I know my backups work because I've used them before with my swap disk. What could be the problem? The only problem I encountered was connecting the SCEX wire. When I connected it, it accidently came off and took the soldering off the leg of the square thing (I have no Idea what it is ). So I soldered the wire back on as good as I could. Another hard part was soldering the wires on the alternate points but I think they are ok. Any suggestions? Thanks.
