Jacked up my PS2

A friend and I tried to mod my V4(no gap) PS2 with a magic V chip. We soldered all of the points, (had a heck of a time with the one's on the underside) and put everything back together.

Low and behold, we turn it on, the dvd spins, but no video or audio. We open it up and make sure we have everything plugged in correctly and try again. Same problem. After a while of doing this I give up and just take the chip out, turn the PS2 on, with my fingers crossed, and the same problem, this time with no chip. I'm guessing we jacked it up some how. My friend claimed to be really good with a soldering iron, but now I'm second guessing that.

Any one have an idea what the possible issues could be? Does this sound familiar?
