Doom 3 Can it be backed up even if you don't have the latest burner?

Only in relation to backing up origional Doom3 to 3 CD's (**not mounting image)

This is what I understand so far.

-Doom 3 is protected by safedisc 3.20.022.
-Not all drives will successfully back this up to cd. The protection is hardware dependent. So if you own one of only a few very recent drives, you may be able to back this up to cd.

Is the NO way I can back up this game if I do not have one of these recent burners? Please give detailed info (programs required - i have alcohol 120% 1.9.2 1705.

I tried to install Doom3.msi (I don't know exactly what this does I was just experimenting with ways to make a working copy) It would not install. How do you install the nocd (as I said I am not interested in this method however I have no idea how you replace the doom3.exe how the hell is it done?)

Should I try with latest version of nero?

-I am not using cloneCD
-Should I uninstall Daemon Tools (which i never use anyway I installed it years ago)

Thanks
