"M02 dye media has been sent from our suppliers as the new superior Ritek dye, these discs are Riteks new improved dye and are compatible with a wider range of hardware.

The discs will burn at 8x on some hardware. If you are unhappy with them for any reason, please let us know and we will arrange to get them back for refund/exchange.

the colour of the burn surface is a slightly lighter shade of purple, i thought that PS2s like a darker shade!?

If the dye is lighter, it may not be as good as the darker dye in regard to game back ups. Ps2 lasers have a tendency to read better and live longer with the darker dye. Maybe it is more compatible for standalone dvd players as some of the cheaper brands have lousy lasers.
Of course this is mostly speculation but there is one sure way to find out and that is to order some and see just what their capabilties really are. I just recently bought more G04's myself but i would be game to try them when i make my next order. Who knows, they may turn out to be alright.
