You can make it even easyer. Simple replace the original panzers.exe on CD3 with that one from GWC and you don't even need to copy the .exe manually.
And you don't need to remove the protect.dll because only the original .exe installs Starforce when you use the cracked .exe only StarForce will not get installed at all. p.s. you can also make 1 DVD out of the 3 CDs without any problems
