PC games done that! DC games now thats new!

Hey there, I am no stranger to the world of PC game backups, but this new fangled Dreamcast backup making has got me puzzled!

Firstly, I know I need a boot disk, no problems there, but after that, can I just download a few dreamcast roms from the net, then burn them onto Cd's? or Do I need additional patches to enable them to be played on my console?
