The eternal debate.

Ok, I have been wanting to mod my PSX for awhile now. I have a SCPH-7501 model and of course I hear people bicker back and forth on what mod chip to get. The main problem isn't that though. I suck at doing what is required to mod a PSX.. I have burned out other things before doing it. I don't know a soul around me who can help me do it either. So I am resorting to the other route. I am reluctant to do so, because it seems a community considers a person a "moron" if they don't chip. Anyways, it has come to it for me though. Now, as GE and GSlite have gotten so low on price these days, I just decide to go that direction. What would be better suited for my needs? A Gameshark 5 (or the last version to know to work well), a Gameshark Lite (or CDX) or any other of those "Boot Discs" (the PS-X-Change or Breaker Pro, which I don't know if I can trust or unless you guys can tell me otherwise).

Seeing the modding road isn't an option for me at the moment this is the only other route... and sorry elitist folks, I know modding is superior.
