That's what I was gonna Suggest..It seems like Sh** Media's you're using..
Also Why would you Tweak the laser on the V9 Machine?
I could understand it from V1-V4 maybe but V5,V7 and up it shouldn't be a problem at all long as you use Very Good to Excellent CD/DVD-R's..
BTW PS2's in general are POS..I'm not gonna lie to you..I agree..I mean they got 10 versions already..I'm sure the fact that people modding the machine has some type of factor but I gotta admit System wise for realibility, Xbox is the King..Easy Mod and easy operation(Sort of Speaking once you get hang of it)..
