i had to sell my ps2 for the same problem u will find that it wont load games like true crimes and freedom fighters as well i sold my v7 and bought a v9 and had a dms3 installed and it loads fine
 im just wondering were the 3rd check is cause i loaded it on a swap system with cd loader but i didnt play it to find out about a 3rd check
