Xbox Live/Road Runner/Xecuter 2.3b

I've got a 2 week old Xbox, that I installed an Xecuter 2.3b Lite+ in right after purchasing it. I haven't ever been ble to connect to Xbox Live! no matter what I try. First I was using SBC Yahoo! DSL, and after various network setups, I could never get connected. I installed Road Runner cable internet yesterday, and I still can't get connected to Xbox Live!

It goes through the first 3 steps rather quick, but it always fails at the last step and I get "Communiation Error: Xbox Live! could not be found"

I know I've never tried to connect with the mod chip turned on, so I don't think it's possible that I've been banned already. Has any one ever had this problem who might help me get this set up. Thx!
