QIII Urban Terror Problems

i'm at my wits end. i have a couple of problems. i've JUST reloaded all software in the following order (which is the suggested order):
QIII Arena (purchased version)
Q3pointrelease_132.exe
urbanterror34_full.exe
GameSpyInstaller263020STD.EXE

yet, i can't use the "Check for Quake III Arena Updates.exe" it doesn't seem to be able to connect nor do i seem to have the latest point release which i have verified that i do at planetquake.com.
Another problem that i have that was the cause for me to reload everything was that i keep getting a "invalid cd-key" on many servers.
I hope you guys can help me.
