Sorry you are having such bad luck with the new Pioneer drive. I have only used it for burning DVDs, and I have not experienced a failure yet. Granted, my experience is limited to backing-up only about 6 movies, but they have all burned just fine. I have used both Ritek and PioData DVD discs. As we all know, Ritek = Ricoh. I don't know who makes the PioData media for Pioneer, but they seem to work well on the Pioneer 107 drive. Hope someone else can help. lugesm
