hmmm, i would say that your dc was made in dec 2000, but your dc can boot the utopia disc, so that is not the case.
out of curiosity, what games are you trying to burn? you might have to patch something. i know when i tried burning 4x4 evo, my burner could not burn the 2 sec. tracks, so i had to use a tool to merge those tracks and i finally got it to boot. if all else fails for you, there is always the echelon selfboot kit. it should be that hard for a noob.
