will boot disk ruin my monitor?

i downloaded, and burned, the vga boot disk. does this prevent any possiblity of the reindeer screen fuking up my monitor? i have a vga box. also, if it still can fuk up. are there specific brands known to be ok to have it load w/ the screen? i have a sony
