Far Cry: Backup DVD to CD

Hey all.. Just a quick question. I have the DVD version of this game, and I've noticed that there is a 5CD version available in North America.

I'd like to backup my version of the game, but I don't have a DVD writer; only a CD writer.

Is there any way to convert this puppy into the 5CD version?

The only way I could think of, to back this game up, would be to image the DVD, rar the image into multiple volumes and burn the volumes to CD, and then.. when I DO get a DVD Burner, to burn the DVD image; all the while my original DVD is sitting in my closet, nice and safe. But I'd rather have an installable, playable 5CD version and not just an spanned image.
