maybe your hard drive is faulty.

mine was.

what happened was i burnt a few dvds fine and all when i first got my dvd writer.

then one day when i was burning it stopped about half way through. then i tried a different disk. failed. tried a differetn game, failed. i started to use RW dvds.

but it kept failing. so then i did a hard drive error check. came up with errors and fixed em. then it worked. but later down the road my hardrive was doing crazy stuff constantly. so i took it ack to the guys who built it. they did a diagnostic and found that it was faulty and replaced it with a new one under warranty.

so it could be that. im not sure if thats ur problem, just a suggestion.
