If it's an archive file (zip), then you will need the latest version of Winrar to unpack the crack. It's usually then a simple case of copying the cracked Exe file into the game Directory. This is the file the Desktop shortcut for that game points to, and usually contains the CD protection. What you're doing with a crack is replacing the launch game Exe with a version that doesn't check for the original CD. If you're not asked if you want to overwrite the file, then this means the Game Exe you're trying to overwrite is in another Directory, so it's just a case of finding it. You can do this by trial and error, or use File Find to locate the original Exe file
