Question about Ritek G03,G04 DVD-R

I am researching for PS2 media (I have a PS2 v7 Messiah v1.33 mod) and I used to use DVD+R media. All my games boot fine but I want to use the best media (i.e, least wear and tear on the laser excluding PS2 originals). I know Ritek in general in this forum seem to be the best. I went to meritline.com and see that there are several Ritek versions. My question is on PS2 laser wear and tear which one is best to use:

vs

I always thought that burning at the lowest speed is the best; but I read on a forum that burning at 2x or 4x is better (the one specified on the labels) cuase at slower speeds it can overburn pits into the media. This is the first time I heard of this and would like feedback from the pros.
