You're an a***! To say that the modchip scene is a scam, how come mine and everyone elses PS2's and chips work? If you've got a problem, ask a question instead of coming on here shouting stuff you know nothing about.
If you want to go and buy a KakboX, then go ahead, but you'll be dissapointed - the PS2 ain't the most popular console for nothing mate... The Magic 3.x is a naff chip. I'm not suprised you're having trouble with it. toss it and get a decent chip in there. XboX, ha, you make me laugh... It's about Bill Gates was beaten at something, and it seems that Sony have done just about that!
