i think it's because you dont have your original dashboard named xboxdash.xbe but msxboxdash.xbe
the original dash must be named xboxdash.xbe for it to boot when the modchip is off! try getting a bios that supprots the naming to the evox dash to evoxdash.xbe so u can have your original dash as xboxdash.xbe then your xbox will boot as normal with your chip off
