pro 2.3's and lite+ 2.3's

Doing some christmas shopping and looking to buy mod-chips this year.

I put in a X-Ecuter 2.2 pro myself a few months ago. I have two questions.

1) Is the only between the pro and light is that the pro has to printer port for flashing ? or is there other differences?

2)Wassup with the v2.3 versions - anything special?
