Call of Duty hangs on menu screen

Ok first of all i did a search and read every post there are a couple of peeps with the same problem but there was no resolution.
Ive installed call of duty used both the deviance and style nocd crack and both times on the menu screen when u select which difficulty level, it just go back to the menu screen.
This is killing me..
