Why the F*ck!!!! does grandia 2 do this!!!!!!! damn the sh*t!

Ok i play the first disk, and everythings going cool, after like 20 mins into the game, you get to this part where you first meet a bad guy and she's a girl with black wings! right when you have to fight her! like in front of the church! when i hit her it takes NO ENERGY! then she uses a move called "ZAP" and i die! but i still have HP left!!!!! and!!! the game just stops and stays stuck! peice of sh*T!!!
