Nope, cache doesn't matter. And a 5400rpm vs a 7200rpm only makes a difference with heat and noise.
Seagats and thompsons are the most used, and ussually cheaper: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...tegory_hdd.asp 94USD for 7200rpm 2mb 120gb drive.
