I have friends that get bothered by not having manuals too and I don't understand why it's a big deal?
I don't really want to read some lame crappy story about the game's plot. I guess seeing the controls layout might be helpful but almost everygame lets you see it ingame anyway. My proven method is you play the game once, mash each button to see if it does anything, reset, and start playin. (the only game it fails for me is football - I cant ever keep the buttons straight anyway! )
