Possible to play XBox Live with new HDD?

Okay, I am trying to install a new hard drive in my xbox. I have backed up all the info from my old hard drive including the c:\backup\ folder that has 5 files. I also have Slayers 2.1 and have successfully used it to format and upgrade my new drive.

However, now I want to change the EEPROM on my new drive to match the old one using Config Magic. This is what I am using I need to do because as it is when I switch to my xbox bios my drive cannot be recognized.

I hope all of this made sense.

Also, is the EEPROM on the hard drive or the bios? So if I mess it up am I totally screwed or could I just replace the hard drive?
