help backing up GTA Vice City

I recently got the game Vice City and I wanted to make a dvd backup copy. When i burnt it with primo dvd the global image way it didn't work. I have made 5 coasters now. I have backed up other dvd games (6) with this media and they worked great. When I put the game in the PS2 all I get the browser. Not even the red screen comes up that asks for a ps2 or psx formatted game. Is it possible that some games work on certin media or that vice city has to be done a different way.
