disc reading problems

im having problems playing burned games on my playstation. my playstation is a scph-7501 and i use a game enhancer and an original disc to boot. the games boot fine, but they skip during video sequences, and sometimes they freeze, forcing me to restart. at first i thought the problem was with the cdr's i was using, so i got verbatim datalifeplus cd's, as recommended on consolecopyworld. this helped some, but games still skip on the videos. my burner is a very old hp one, only 2x. could that be the problem? ive followed the directions on consolecopyworld, using cdrwin to burn my games, but i still always get the skipping. does anyone know whats going on?
