Sony Vaio PCG-GRT170 DVD region lock!!!??

I have recently bought a laptop, a Sony GRT170 to be exact. I was playing around with all the various options I can change on the laptop when I came across the option on the DVD-+RW drive itself. After right clicking and going to properties on the drive I noticed that Sony allowed me to change the region settings only 4 times, after which the last region selected is locked. I was wondering if there was a tool out there that would let me flash the chip on the drive to allow me to change the region lock as many times as I want to?
