I use Recordnow max all the time for both movies and PS 2 games.
First you will need DVD Decrypter or similar ripping program, then DVD2One, before burning with Recordnow Max. Find the full guide here: http://www.dvdrhelp.com/forum/userguides/146795.php I would follow Bighap's advice and persist with the DVDXcopy programs as they are reliable and simple. Or alternatively download DVDShrink. It is also a relatively simple program to use. Good luck
