The difference between +R and -R is complex, technical, and mostly moot.
Older PS2's will OFTEN (not always) read -R, and SOME of them will read +R. My v4 (GT3 edition) reads +R just fine. v5 and newer units should read both -R and +R just fine. Older units (v1-v3) are a crapshoot no matter what, due to their lousy lasers. --------------- That said, IF your unit plays +R, then the NEC is a fine burner. I have the Plextor version and am very very happy with it. - Gurm
