having problems with originals...

Okay.. I need your advice. I bought a messiah 2 pro version 1.3... and sent it to a reputable place to get it modded. I just got it back today and I was doing some testing. All of my original ps2 games work just fine... but only some of my original ps1 games will boot. I hooked up those same games to my ps1 and they played fine so I know it is not a problem with with the actual disk. Out of 15 games.. only 6 won't work.

Is there something I'm not doing right? From what I've read.. with the messiah 2 pro.. everything should work. None of my old ps1 backups are working either, but they were made on some really sloppy media so that might be the case there.

Do you think this is more of a problem with the chip or the install? My ps2 is version 5. Both the place where I got the modchip from and the person who modded it came highly recommended here on this board (which is why I'm reluctant to mention their names).

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!
