Spyro 4 Music

I've been trying to rip the music from Spyro 4, but I'm running into trouble and was hoping for some help determining the sample rate and number of bits that the music is encoded in.

I believe that the music and program data are combined into the same files on the DVD, but I have made a little progress.

This is where I've gotten:

1) Copy the following file from the DVD to your hard drive:

\spyrodat\chunks2\MG_DD_W.CNK

Note: I've chosen this file only because I've made a bit of headway with it.

2) Open the file with Goldwave. Choose the following settings:

File type: RAW
Attributes: PCM
8-bit
stereo
signed
11025 Hz

3) Play the file, beginning at about 9:15.

You can definately hear music from the game. This is quite garbled as I can't find the correct import settings. And I've tried all sorts of combinations. Here are some combinations that are close:

- 8 Bit, Stereo, Signed, 11025 Hz
- 8 Bit, Mono, Signed, 22050 Hz
- 16 Bit, Mono, Signed, 11025 Hz

Can anybody figure out the correct settings? Once we figure them out, we could trim the data from the music...

Thanks,

Duster
