The old digital Performance brand controllers draw too much power and blow little surface mount
microfuses on the PSX motherboard. It's an easy fix for any soldermonkey that can use a multi- tester. I fixed a few PSX with this problem and modified a Controller to draw less power by adding resistors to the power wire. I would think they fixed the problem by now. I have a cheap Interact PS2 Shock analog controller and it has not blown my PSX yet. The best chips are the Multi mode 3 chips, when soldered in 7 wire mode, I have not found an antimod yet that could detect this chip. If you are in North America you can get one very cheap. email @ jprcus (at) yahoo (dot) com. Sorry, I can't help you about Mac soft! Last edited by ihaveanosebleed; 20-04-2003 at 04:22. |
