Dreamcast motor burned.

I rent a dreamcast at my videoclub. I played whit it for two day. One hour before returned it I tried to play but the dreamcast was broken. Each time I tried to turn the power on, whit a cd inside the Dreamcast, it only lasted for 2 sec before goign off. But if there is no cd inside, the menu screen appear and everything is fine but if I try to put a cd inside their is notthing happening. Is it possible that the motor is dead and if so how is it possible. Is it possible that playing burned game broke the dreamcast???
